Our tour at the Surfing Goat Dairy started at 10:00 a.m., and we made it just in time. We lucked out because we were the only ones there for the 10:00 tour.
The baby goats were really my favorite. They nibbled on everything.
After checking out the babies, we strolled up a hill to the little older goats.
They all took their feeding positions. So hilarious.
Here's the stud muffin, Pepito.
He's posing for Les.
After visiting the goats we stopped at the milking shed.
This is where we sampled some of the goat cheese.
Me and Leslie were a little concerned that we might not be able to hide our dislike for goat cheese, but it turned out that we didn't have to worry . . . the cheese was good! We were both so surprised.
The cheese was expensive . . . $9 for a teeny, tiny 3.4 oz. container, but most are award-winning cheeses (the ones with the asterisks). I did buy a bunch so that my family could try.
Here's what Landon made with the Udderly Delicious (plain) cheese. Sorry, no more recipe. He said he just cut up chicken breast meat and added the cheese and other ingredients and then wrapped in puff pastry dough. Wendell liked it so much that he ate 2 1/2 pieces of the turnover-sized pies for dinner.
Looks like a mini pot pie! Yes, we had goats in our yard but there were 3 families in one compound so I think it was actually my dad's friend who owned them. Behind my house is a valley and someone is raising goats, pigs, and ducks down there. I see BIG goats. I'm just glad I can't smell them from up here : )
Love the theme of the Goat Dairy, with the surfboard motif. Interesting menu and names. I not a cheese expert, but I'm a cheese aficionado; love to eat it. The sandwich looks yummy.

Susan, that's another thing I was surprised about . . . it wasn't stink and farmy-smelling at the dairy.
