Kidney Stones
Wendell woke me up at around 3:30 a.m. last Thursday morning saying that he needed to go to the Emergency Room. He had been having some abdominal issues for a few days so I wasn't totally surprised.
What I didn't realize was just how much pain he was in. Only when I heard him telling his friends later about how I took my sweet time getting ready did I find out. But hey! There are things that you gotta do to make yourself presentable . . . right? Because we all know how I look first thing in the morning . . .
A CT scan was done and it was diagnosed that Wendell had kidney stones. He saw a urologist the next day and was given some medication.
Wendell passed this stone a couple of days ago. It's around 2 x 5 mm. He supposedly had three . . . 2 mm, 4 mm and 6 mm. We're hoping that this was the biggest one. At any rate, Wendell said that he feels like a champ now.

Ouch! Glad Wendell is feeling better and hopefully he passes the other two stones easily. You are so funny regarding looking proper before heading out to the ER. LOL

Ouch! Poor thing. Apples are good for the kidneys. Maybe he has to not drink as much beer. Glad he passed those stones. So stressful for you, but now you both are ready for the new year!
Pua ting. Have Wendell drinks lots of water and keep hydrated all the time, if he already isn't. With da loco moco grinds, especially during the holiday, get plany sodium. That's a good size nugget, too bad, it wasn't gold. Hope he's feeling better.

It was stressful when we didn't know what the problem was, Aunty. Thanks for the tip about apples. I always have Envy apples in my fridge.

Another one just came out too, Les!
Wow, I know ppl who had to have surgery to remove those. Glad the hubby is feeling like a champ so he can continue cooking...haha!
Can either drink beer or take tylenol. Not both! I read the combination produces kidney stones!
Personally, I would stick with the beer! Tylenol no work!
