Here's my gang at 3:00 a.m. this morning. Grandpa and aunty are in the car. We went to a District Park in our area.
The parking lot was full with other like-minded, safety-conscious people.
Like the last time, I packed my most valuable possession. This is how I normally treat my gear by the way. I know . . . I don't deserve them.
This time I remembered my expensive jewelry. They all fit in a film canister.
I even remembered to bring with me my stapler that I love. I was pretty proud of myself for remembering to pack everything . . . until we got home aftewards and I noticed on my dresser . . .
my stash.
thanks for today

You have about the same amount of jewelry as me!
Glad you're safe.
Glad you all are ok.
uh...a stapler? what tha?? Landon looks thirsty. You better get him a bigger cup. Kona is such a good boy yah? I'd be running around the parking lot chasing after Mattie...
Glad you got home, uhhh safely...yah, you get the prize for the first one to go back to their house!
Mariko, I didn't have the patience to stay put as long as your family did. Loved your blog post about your evacuation experience.
Thanks Betty.
Hahaha, Les, I looked at the stapler and thought, whatdahell, and threw it in my bag. Could've been a lolo move going back home too early, but hey Dr. M never even left his house.
glad you guys were okay!
Thanks Kat. You too!
Ohh man, hope all was well with you my friend. I lost tons of sleep but recouped today cuz I had the day off. Prayers go out to Japan...
I only had to work half day myself. Good thing, I was pretty wasted. Unreal what we've been seeing of Japan, yeah!
yeah, our old roommate is actually from Sendai in Northern Japan where the worst of it was. She emailed and she's ok - Thank GOD!
Mano, thank God for fast communication. You know back when Pearl Harbor got bombed, I read that families on the mainland didn't know for WEEKS whether their loved ones were dead or alive. Can you imagine?
Yes, the important stuff. Camera and lenses, I would do the same.
not to spoil anything guys but the nuclear plant just exploded in Japan, winds could bring fallout to Hawaii. What happens if we breath nuclear fallout? cancer and death, I'm serious: http://www.ehow.com/video_4951200_nuclear-energy-harmful_.html
Sorry for the bad news but this is worst case scenario
Erick, I bet your stuff is all neatly packed already.
I know Mano, I just read about the explosion!
Did you get any sleep? Kona looks bored. I just grabbed by camera, work clothes, a change of clothes and ALL the animals, 5 cats, 1 dog and one bird and food for them and water for me. Figured i could share my water with the animals. Thank God it was a very miner one.
Susie, I thought I had enough sleep, but by the end of the next day I was pretty wasted. Where did you go with your menagerie?
sooo happy to hear that you and your family were safe. :) forgot that you live so close to the ocean. our hearts and prayers to all the people in japan ... so devastating!
Renee, I cannot believe the destruction. And now the nuclear thing . . .
