I worked half day today, so I offered to cook dinner. I made a pot roast. Wendell whipped up this broccoli and shiitake mushroom side dish. He just sauteed them in a little bit of olive oil, some butter and garlic salt. I kept picking at it while I was preparing dinner. It was sooo ono that before I knew it I had eaten almost the whole thing by myself. Oink . . . oink.
I had to heat up some frozen corn for everybody else. Oops!
This morning at work, I asked Jonathan our mailman to pull a name for the coworker portion of my brownie mix giveaway. Everybody else, you gotta wait until Sunday.
Malia won!
Yosh's order came in yesterday. Yay!!! This Pumpkin Spice Bread Mix was in it. I'm gonna make it tonight. The best thing about these mixes is that they're so easy to make. For this pumpkin bread you just add 2 eggs, 1/2 cup oil, 1/3 cup water and 3/4 cup canned pumpkin to the mix. How easy, yah. I even bought me an 8 x 4 inch loaf pan, so I don't have to improvise with tin foil again.
I keep forgetting to ask you what you use for your closeup food shot now that you don't have your 60mm macro? Did you get a replacement? Very nice food shots..
Shun Wah, I use my 100mm macro for the close-up food shots. But not only that, it's become my favorite portrait lens too. If you look at Jasmine's pictures. Nos. 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 13 were all shot with my 100mm macro. The only reason I didn't use it on the other shots is that I was too close and had to use my 50mm lens instead.
OMG ... what a small world! Your mailman is our neighbor ... lives three houses away from us. He also goes to New Hope ... knows Michelle and Jason. :)

Check out the food section at Ross Dress 4 Less. They sometimes carry Dassant products.
The broccoli/mushroom saute looks really good. I never think to try something different with broccoli...I just steam it. How was your pot roast?
Congratulations to Malia! I've always loved that name. :)
