I really hadn't planned on baking the brownies today. I wanted to check out the Mardi Gras celebration in downtown after work . . . but noooooo . . . I ended up working until 8:00, so all habut (grouchy) I drove on home after work instead.
After eating dinner, curious about this "Holy Grail of Brownies", I quickly threw the ingredients together. You can see the chocolate chips in the mix.
Here's a block of melted butter and two eggs.
I added nuts to the mix 'cause Wendell likes nuts. Then I added the egg/butter mixture.
It turned into a gooey lump. It was so thick and hard to work with.
I spread it around as best I could.
The directions said to bake for 25 to 28 minutes. It didn't look ready after 25 so I left it the additional 3 more minutes. Only thing . . . when I took it out after 28 minutes it moved around like molten lava . . . it still wasn't done. So I put it back in the oven for another 5 minutes. Here's what it looks like right now. I wonder if it's cooked all the way through. It's cooling off . . . it's almost 10:30 and I figure I just better post this already. Sorry to keep you guys hanging . . .
thanks for today

okay, waiting to see how it tastes! :) then, I wanna win! (unless it is junk...) haha
Jos, I just tasted it. It's ONO!! Veeeery chocolatey with bits of melted chocolate. I'll try to post pictures of the cut up pieces tomorrow. Hopefully, I won't have a late night at work again.
8:00???? Seriously? I told you to say "hurrydahellup!!!!"
are we getting samples today? :)
First off...getting off at 8pm is insane. Makes for a really long day. I think maybe because you put nuts in the batter and the chocolate chips made the finished product look lumpy. And if it tastes ONO who cares what it looks like...hahahaha!!
Les, I know, I know . . . so lose money for the company 'cause mostly I'm just waiting. I already packed up a few pieces to bring to work. My pictures make the pan look like a 9 x 13, but it's an 8 x 8, so no more too many pieces . . . really . . . I know you think I lieing.
Betty, actually I started at 10 a.m. so it's not THAT bad. The slow-reading doc is off today, so I should be home at a better time tonight.
Looks soooo good....wouldn't mind eating one right now...mmmmmm
SOOOOO......THE BEST ????
Mmiissee, I brought all that was left to work today and passed it out. I ate the crumbs that were left. Hahaha.
Didi, dunno if it's DA BEST, but it's pretty close.
Ok, I was like, "WHAT! YOU'RE NOT GOING TO TELL US IF IT'S GOOD!?"
But then you did right here. I heard the Baked brownie mix is supposed to be awesome as well.
Hahaha, Mariko, more to come on the brownies tonight.
