Sad News
We had to put Kona down this morning.
He stopped eating yesterday, couldn’t get up on his own and could hardly walk. He seemed very weak.
The vet squeezed him in before her other appointments. She quickly discovered by x-rays that he had a splenic mass, most likely cancerous. He’d been going downhill for awhile and had other health issues, so it was just a matter of time. I guess.
Kona went peacefully. Wendell, Landon and I were there.
He was 2 months shy of being 14 years old. Gonna miss that Kona-boy.

WAAAAAHHH!! I'm so sorry Jalna, that's one of the hardest things to do...I'm gonna miss that Kona boy, his crazy smile whenever i went to pet him :). hopefully Mick will take care of him in doggy heaven. I'm glad he's not suffering anymore...xoxo

I am so sorry! We had to put down our 15 yr old Australian Shepherd mix in April. It was so hard, but like your Kona, wasn’t eating, couldn’t walk, etc. But, it was time and I like to think as she crossed over the rainbow bridge she was able to run and play with all the sweet loved dogs that went one before. So, I think our Rozie was at the end of the rainbow bridge greeting your Kona. Hugs to you Jalna!

This news made me cry. I was thinking of our lil pup that we almost lost last Oct. and we only had her a year. Kona was blessed to have such a loving family. Prayers of comfort for you, Wendall & Landon.
