I scored this salad spinner at the Kapolei community garage sale that me and Geri went to a few weeks back. It was $1!!!! I never owned a salad spinner before, and I just totally love it. It's so much easier than patting the leaves with a paper towel, yah.
It's an OXO brand too!
This part pops up, and I pump it to spin.
This is the salad that I made. It has romaine lettuce, Costco chicken, cucumbers, avocado, havarti cheese and parmesan cheese.
I used this dressing that I bought at Marukai. The Japanese writing says "Yaki Round Onion Dressing". I like it a lot.
I added these "croutons", also from Marukai. It's actually fried mochi bits. I couldn't help myself.
That is a fabulous spinner. I cannot make salads without my spinner. I bought one for $1 at the Richardson sale too but it was not nearly as new looking as yours.
Now that's a great buy Jalna. I love great buys! So fun! I'm trying to keep more good buys out of my house now though. I have to be very selective now. My house is getting too full of good buys! UG!
I really like red leaf lettuce. Of course I always rinse it clean. But then I just shake it out and I put it in my big Tupperware bowl with tomatoes and whatever other veggies for my salads.
When I want a salad, it's all pre cut and mixed and I just plop a salad serving on my plate. Lately I have been enjoying Balsamic Vinaigrette and Olive Oil. And fresh cracked peppercorns and sea salt.

Hey, you scored too, Kay!
Good score, and nice looking salad! Fried mochi sounds super ono!
man! I got the same one but paid full price a long time ago...your salad looks yummy!

Fried mochi MADE the sald, Aunty! LOL.
The salad was ono, Les.
I know what you mean about "good buys" overtaking the house, Mark. Nowadays before I buy something I have to figure out if I have room for it first.
Don't forget you can use the spinner for other things too! Like herbs, berries and grapes. You can even do spin art if you get bored! LOL.
Hey Alibaba, good ideas!! Thanks!
Wow! that is a very nice spinner. And it's a great buy...mine doesn't work well and too big. I love to try the Mochi Taro and the dressing.
I hope you get to try the dressing and mochi taro some day, Akemi.
