Big Tomatoes

A few weeks ago, my son Landon said that he was going to Safeway and did I need anything. I asked him to pick up a few tomatoes.

When he returned he said that he couldn't find the regular kind so he got these. Beautiful, yah. And they were good. Only thing . . . they were around $5 each. And he bought four. Yikes!

j: OMG I didn't buy cherry tomatoes cuz they cost $4.39 for one tray....too chang...but $5 for one! Yikes! I only go to Safeway for bargains on the savings card, deli items-more variety, stuff local stores don't carry like a quart size of lactose free milk, bargain rack and discounted cold cuts, variety of breads (french is good but gets hard fast). Otherwise too pricey for me, their meats all cost $10 for a tray, more like $15. Use to go for $5 Fridays. -n

Jalna, I'll mail you da seeds, din you give them to your favorite green thumb girlfriend to grow them for you! ; ) And you can go visit your awesome from seed tomatoes, and take awesome pics in her yard! .....hehe Jus messing with you.

But you know.....here in North County San Diego I can buy awesome tomatoes in the summer months for only $0.69 cents per pound!

Right now in the winter they are $1.49 per pound. I don't care what size they are. I really want small ones, because they stay fresh and last longer that way. Because I live alone and I don't need massive tomatoes. But they sure are cute! But not $5 bucks cute! ; )

Geez! In 1970, I used to fill up my 1969 VW Beetle at Lex Brodie's with just $5 bucks fo gas! ; )
