I'm so relieved that Pokipine transformed without a mishap. But ho da ugly he came. He looks like a dried up leaf now.
Not sure how long before he becomes a butterfly. I'm guessing 1 to 2 weeks. I feel like putting a drop of crazy glue to make sure he doesn't fall off. Will update you every few days or so.

This is so exciting! I wish I had this happening in front of my eyes!
Hmm - he really does look like a dried-up leaf. Since I only have monarchs on my property, I'm curious to see what Pokipine will look like when he goes through his metamorphosis! Kinda exciting, yeah?
Wow, no kidding he is ugly compared to the monarch butterfly cocoon. Can't wait to see how he turns out!
Weird looking cocoon!
Yah, it is exciting, Jenny!
I agree, Lorna!
Mich, the monarch cocoon was so pretty with the gold flecks, yah.
I think it's so alien-looking, Aunty.
j: this is how the mama alien started from "Aliens" -N
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Hopefully that's just camouflage until he sprouts his wings.
Otherwise, I think you have one of those massive 747 African Moths!....hehe
Looks like a dead leaf to me. Ha ha
Oh wow! That's really good camouflage because otherwise the bulbuls would eat him.
During this intermission, while your very scary butterfly grows into a monster! I have another idea for your blogs.
You could spend the day at Wal Mart, and capture "The People of Wal Mart in action"!...LOL

What is that pokey-looking thing on the bottom of your container in your photo? that wouldn't be Pokipine's shedding?
OMG Mark, the coloring of the cocoon is just like those moths, yah.
Totally, Erick.
That's what I was thinking too, Kay!
Soooo funny, Mark.
