Islands Burgers

A couple of weeks ago I suggested to Wendell that we go to Ruby Tuesdays for lunch because I have a gift card. Ala Moana Shopping Center was busy so it took us awhile driving around and around trying to find parking. And guess what? Maybe you know already. There is no Ruby Tuesdays at Ala Moana anymore!!

So we ended up at Islands Burgers.

This was Wendell's Kilauea with Bacon. It comes with endless fries. I think it was around $14.

Here's my Kaanapali Cobb Salad . . . around $13.

The salad was wonderful, and service was excellent.

I don't want to pop your bubble on the salad kick because cobb salad is my favorite but you should look up the calories and fat content, especially if you're trying to lose weight. I used to eat that all the time until I found out :( :( :(
So now, aside from not eating cobb salad anymore, I use lemon and shoyu as dressing on all my salads.

Islands is good! We go sometimes for work. They let you substitute chicken breast or veggie patty for burger patty on any of their burgers. And their fish tacos are good too. But nothing beats a real burger with bacon and blue cheese! Never mind the calories on the Cobb salad. Enjoy!

I can't believe how expensive their burgers are now. I used to take my kids to Islands all the time. I loved the bottomless chips and salsa! I have not been in years now. They sure do have a great atmosphere though.

Veggie burger, Les? Never thought to do that. Maybe after the diet challenge.

I agree, Akemi! So expensive.
