Nuuanu Valley Park

A little past Queen Emma Summer Palace on Pali is Nuuanu Valley Park, I went to check it out this afternoon as a possible picture-taking site. At first it looks like your typical neighborhood park, but as you walk further in there are nice big open grassy areas.

This dog was enjoying the open field with this ball thing. He was so funny, tossing the ball and chasing it. He really didn't need anybody to throw the ball for him. He would just toss it himself.
I went at the worst time of the day for picture-taking with splotchy areas of sun and shadows all around, but I really liked the trees and grass. I think it has good potential.Trees and grass.
More trees and grass. Had plenty mosquitoes too . . . no chameleon though.
Tree with hanging vines.
I loved these roots.
I was on my way to my car when this house caught my eye.
It's actually a temple.
This huge rope is connected to a bell on the top.
Cute yeah!

Your were busy today. Nice shots of the park. I love the banyan tree shot, so dramatic, great shot. I've been to that park many time and I never knew that was church there. Nice shots of the church too. So, you are all ready for the upcoming shoot?

I never knew this park was there. How nice!! Aren't those trees with the big roots and vines hanging down called banyan trees? Looks like there's some nice spots for a photo shoot.

Hey Erick, thanks. I'm small-kine nervous about the motorcycle shoot cause I don't really know the best way to capture them . . . we'll see.

Kat, actually it was a first for me too. I was thinking as I was walking around "been here my whole life and never knew about this place".

Betty, I'm pretty sure they're banyan trees.

uh, were you trespassing again?? Did you pick the lock to get into the temple? It didn't look like there was anyone around...

Glad you found the place ok. Too bad I was busy, I would've went with you :(

Hahaha, no I wasn't trespassing, but I wasn't sure if picture taking was allowed in the temple. There was a guy in the next room changing into a kimono, so I kinda half expected him to come out and scold me, but he didn't.

Wow..don't know there were so many hidden places around town.. Love the black and white shot of the tree with the angle of the enormous roots... Hopefully, one day, I'll go and check it out myself.

Shun Wah, I know . . . there must be a lot of hidden spots we don't know about.

CQ, my picture overexaggerates the roots. The tree is the bottom section kinda by the small stream.
