CQ's Cranberry Chutney

CQ's chutney is on the right. It was sooooo ono, just like Diamond Head Market and Grill's. It's on the sweeter side. The recipe follows (in CQ's words). Mine is on the left. Doesn't it look so unappetizing? I hated it, but other people liked it.

Here are the sandwiches we made and passed out. Everything went, even mine.CQ's Cranberry Chutney

Fresh Cranberries - 1 bag
Crasins & raisins - half cup of each
1 med onion - Diced
1 Fuji apple - Diced
Cinnamon - 1tsp??
Brown & White sugar - both to equal ¾ cup total ( neva know how to half um! )
Nutmeg - dash I tink
Powdered Ginger - dash..fo real..this one is a dash
Apple Cider Vinegar - 1 cap full-ish
Water - 1 cups water
Orange Juice.uh.by taste.maybe a cup??
And I hope I neva forget anything else...

Boil Cranberries in 1 cup of water till it starts poppin. When it starts to slow down (Kinda like popcorn), add a little orange juice. maybe 1 cup. Let boil then add onions, apples, crasins and raisins. Let boil for 15min or till it comes out looking like preserves. Add brown and white sugar, cinnamon, dash of nutmeg, dash of powdered ginger, cap full of apple cider vinegar. Should still be thick, but if its too thick, then add more orange juice. Let simmer on stove for another 5-10 min.

Serve on the side with pot roast or roast beef or ham or anykine of meat. but if u have left overs, you can blend the chutney, and add a little honey for a sweet spread to a sandwich das even better than Diamond Head Grill!!!! Tee, Hee..

your chutney sounds more savory than cq's, but both look good!

Wow, the recipe from Cooks.com was certainly missing a few ingredients. Strange, their recipes usually are pretty good. CQ's looks more like what chutney should look like. And her recipe looks very easy. During the Christmas season Bel Air (grocery store where I shop) always has cranberry relish in their deli case. I usually buy some. It is really good. I have a pretty simple recipe too that's good. The sandwiches look yummy!

Kat, I sooo prefer CQ's!

Rand, CQ made me an extra batch lately and I've been eating it all week . . . still not tired of it.

Betty, cranberry relish? Hmmm . . . I'm gonna check that out.
