Ohana Marketplace Hits and Misses

Wendell and Landon went to pick up food from Ohana Marketplace after golfing the other day.  Wendell really likes the tonkatsu from Nana Ai Katsu and he probably had it in mind, but unfortunately it was in between mealtimes and so the place was closed.

They got other food instead.

Here are the hits:

The Handmade Dumplings from Bo's Kitchen was good.

Bo's Kitchen Spicy Wonton was also ono.

Not sure where this $5 Kimchee Fried Rice was from but Lan liked it.

Korean sushi from Bibihana was good.

Now, here are the misses:

The Braised Beef Brisket from Bo's Kitchen wasn't tender and coulda used more time on the stove per Landon.

Also from Bo's Kitchen, the Hainanese Chicken Rice was flavorful, but the chicken pieces were too bony and lacking of enough meat.

Lastly, this Chowder from Fat Cheeks Hawaii was too thyme-y.

the parking sucks there too! You'd think it's a big lot but it's sort of like McCully Shopping center where you get trapped in the lane and it's always full!

Ooh thanks for sharing this post! Love Bo's wontons as well! Too bad about the misses, I would want them to be fork tender too!

There"s a vendor on the makai side that I patronize, they make a delicious green smoothie, really healthy.I agree, there are some hit and misses.

Jenny, I think the biggest disappointment for Wendell was that the tonkatsu place was closed.

Chet, I wonder if it's the same place that I get ginger lemonade from. So refreshing!

Izsmom, LOL.

Aunty, yah!

Kat, I know.

Dd, yours are better.

I love Korean sushi, I like when they brush it with sesame seed oil. I dip it in shoyu and chopped chili peppers. So ono!
