Swap Meet - 02/28/2021

It was rainy and windy so there were not as many sellers as the last time that we went.  At least it was nice and cool.

Despite trying to hold the camera steady, I still got a lot of rocky footage.  Bah!!  I need one of those gimbal stabilizers, but that would be waaaaay to shame for me to use.

It's okay, at least I got enough material to put together this video for you.

Thanks for another fun outing! Learned a few things...I’ve never seen Achiote in its natural form before. The round cacti look like sea urchins!

Fun! Those bitter melon vines brought back memories of me plucking the leaves off the stems for my mom. She cooks it with mongo beans. Most of the time she puts the bitter melon instead of the leaves.

Caroline, they do look like sea urchins!

Ooooh Susan, I didn't know they cook with the leaves. LOL.

J, loved it!! Yeah, but cannot go cuz I would buy so many cheap stuffs! I think that old machine was a check machine. Imprinted the check amount by punching in the keys, then pull handle down to imprint amount. I wonder why that was used, faster to write? Or looked legit. Thanks for taking us along. N

N, so danger those cheap stuff! I think when I was a kid I used to watch somebody use that contraption, but I can't remember who it was.

Anon, thanks!

Hey Ryan! Glad you enjoyed it.

Aunty, for me too! Even reliving.

I used to have wild bittermelon growing in my back and my brother-in-law's father used to pick the leaves. He told me to make miso pork stir fry with the leaves. Was so ono (if you like bittermelon, that is).
