BE AWARE!!

At the risk of making you ladies paranoid (like me), I feel I need to share this email that I got from one of my sisters:

Regular customer of ours told me today that a couple of weeks ago, she went to Don Q on her lunch break. She works at HMSA. She was just outside of the parking area at Don Q, going down Kaheka, walking back to work …. middle of the day, broad daylight….cars going up and down, folks walking on the other side of the street and she could see folks waiting at the crosswalk for the light to change……

This guy walks up to her, not homeless guy or anything, normal looking young guy…and he ripped her gold necklace off her neck. Said he pulled at it twice and it broke. Then he walked away like normal, not even running or anything…..

She said that she is always careful coz nowadays got so much homeless folks up and down Keeaumoku and the side streets. She said that she had previously thought that if this situation ever happened, she would immediately kick the person in the nuts, and attack his face….and scream scream scream…..

Instead, she just froze, couldn’t yell, couldn’t move her hands….nothing. She ran into the firestation for help…..

So scary….

I'm glad she wasn't hurt physically, but how traumatizing! Scary indeed. It's so sad we have to be on the alert constantly.
Thank you for the warning.

Really. So Scary. 99.999% of people are good and decent. Why is it the few bad eggs make us feel paranoid? I shall be more aware, eyes in the back of my head from now on.

Thanks.

j: on Facebook subscribe to Stolen Stuff Hawaii. You'll be amazed how much ripping off, esp.stolen cars happen daily. From island end to island end. They have however reunited many ppl with their stuff or run away pet. My experience has been at different gas station. Most recently I was pumping gas at Kunia Circle K and next thing I know there's an overwhelming perfume stench, a wahine is standing next to me in a low cut outfit exposing her ta-tas and her tatts. I nevah saw her approach cuz I was looking at the dispenser. She huskily whispers to me, as she stands really close side by side, about needing gas and she has a big ass box of laundry soap she'll give me for $10. She's not making eye contact and I'm kinda shocked, cuz you know. I don't normally look for Tide at the gas station. I said 'no thanks' then she asked for anything I can spare and I said no thanx again. She left and she must've found a mark cuz she pumped $5 worth a while later. Another time a kid was asking at another station and after he got whatevahs from other folks, he left. Without filling gas. No matter where we go, gotta always keep an eye out.-N

Wow, and he just nonchalantly walked away?? Maybe after the shock...go pepper spray him and get help and handcuff him. Maybe if the community worked together and just stopped these criminals...but yeah, I'd probably freeze too!

Susan, I would totally freeze.
