A few months ago we replaced a very old freezer and an even older fridge. I wondered if our electric bill would go up because both new units are a lot bigger than the old ones. I'm so surprised . . . our bill is now about $100 less per month!! Must be because of the energy-efficient stuff that's happening. Imagine if we got rid of the damn ice machine!
Kat, I remember reading about the photovoltaic stuff on your blog once. Actually, I think if some people in my house would just turn off stuff that they're not using,it would save a lot . . . but I'm tired of nagging.
Les, I WISH they would offer a rebate on old clunky LOUD ice machines.
The reduction in KWH was quite dramatic in comparing 9/09 to 9/10. Utilities are so expensive in Hawaii. No doubt the ice machine uses alot of electricity. If only you could make it disappear.
Wow! I would love to see that bill in my house! Maybe after Edsel reads your blog, he'll be convinced that we need to buy a new energy-efficient washing machine;^D

eep! if you get photovoltaic (sp?) it would probably cut your bill majorly :) kinda expensive to put in but in the end really helps.
hahahahaa! maybe you'll get a rebate!
Ha, ha, ha, that ice machine still going? I thought you would have put it out of its misery by now.

Erick, that damn thing is still going strong.
