Since nobody made the
House of Annie style Strawberry Shortcake for me, I had to make my own. The hardest part for me is buying the strawberries. I suffer from this condition called Cannot-Decide-Which-Tray-To-Buy syndrome. I will reject tray after tray because one strawberry is bruised, or one strawberry is too green or heaven forbid "is that mold?" And it's not just with strawberries. I do it with grapes and cherries too.
So there I was the other day in Costco with about a dozen rejected trays scattered before me. I had actually looked through them before, given up, walked away and returned to try again. A customer approached and started to look through the trays. I pleaded with him, "Please can you pick a tray for me . . . I JUST CANNOT DECIDE WHICH ONE TO BUY!" He proceeded to lift up all the cardboard boxes that were separating the trays and found two trays that were on the bottom, untouched by me or any other buyers. Without even inspecting them, he took the first tray for himself and gave me the second . . . and that's the one I bought.
So, here's my lazy-man style recipe. You sprinkle brown sugar over some cut up perfect-strawberries-that-somebody-else-picked and let it "miko". I really don't know what "miko" means except Brandee always uses that term. I kinda think it means "to absorb the flavor".
Then with half a slice of already-bought Makiki Bake Shop's Biscuits . . .
and some Meadow Gold whipped cream . . .
you assemble like this. Hoo hooo!!! Good enough for me!

Looks really good to me...nobody can tell it's not a homemade biscuit.. YUMMY!!
Oh!! That looks so good! Can't get the biscuits you bought, probably can figure out something though. Pillsbury biscuits would probably work. I had strawberry shortcake when we went to Po Folks in Enterprise for dessert. It wasn't very good. :)
it might be lazy man, but it looks real yummy! i have to try to make those one day!! one day soon!! because i'm hungry! LOL!
Oh yummilicious! That looks so wonderful! Lazy man style is what I like best. One of these days we're going to bump into each other at Costco.
