Landon and I were in Waipahu this past weekend to pick up some avocados from my friend Harri. THANK YOU, HARRI!! While we were there, Lan suggested that we get some food from Thelma's. Shrimp Sarciado ($10.50)
Thelma's Special ($11.50)
Pork Sisig ($11.25)
This empanada was actually from the bakery to the right of Thelma's. I wanted to include it here because it was so good.
j: you came to my side of the island! I did not know anything about Thelma's (I just go to Leeward Drive inn) nor about the bakery and I am a bakery freak. Gotta take a look! That area is right down the hill of me in Royal Kunia. -N
Wow, the food looks awesome! That empanada looks like the empanadas native to my parents area in the north called Ilocos empanada. I tried it in Manila a few years ago. I think I ate 2 of them during a weekend fair they were having at a mall. /
N, Landon came along to keep me company, but the Sunday morning drive actually only took 1/2 hour. I was so surprised. The bakery had some cute little tarts. We tried the ube one, and it was good.
Kay, I wish I was more game to drive around, but lately not so.
