Wendell went to Maui for a softball tournament. He brought home just a few stuff, but he did good. He preordered and got some mochi from Maui Specialty Chocolates. I put together the "combination" tray below for him to give away.
Me and Les didn't preorder when we went to Maui last year, and this is what we got from there. Zero.
Wendell also bought two trays of this layered manju (Azuki and Sweet Potato) from Maui Style Market (fna Ah Fook's) for around $7.50 (maybe). We had already cut up the pieces before I remembered to take a picture.
It's thick and very ono. Wendell said that he was told that it sells out fast.
He also got this teriyaki sakura-boshi from Maui Style Market. It was $20 for a bag.
This is what's left of the bag . . . maybe half gone?

They all look onolicious! I have not been to Maui in awhile. While I still think it’s one of the prettiest islands, it’s so overdeveloped now. 😢. I miss the time when you know why they named Dairy Rd, Dairy Rd. LOL
Shucks I wish I saw your post earlier. I just got back from Maui yesterday. I did order my mochi and yes, the table looked exactly like that when I went to pick up my mochi in the afternoon. I would love to have tried the layered manju. Some other items I picked up that you might like next time, Maui Crisps (beef chips). Found at a Shell gas station right after the Kaahumanu mall (name? the bigger mall). Its like the one Kaimuki Grill used to make. Also for the first time I tried Maui Manjookies. I wish I tried it earlier and went back for more. It is like manju and shortbread cookies had a baby together. Strange though one flavor peanut butter was more like the cookie and we tried strawberry and that was more like the manju. Their cookies are also supposed to be good and we bought a few that we didn't open yet.
thanks for today
