Sunday, October 16, 2016 Noboribetsu, Hokkaido
Last stop before checking into the Noboribetsu Grand Hotel was Jigokudani, a ravine with hot steam vents and sulfurous streams, known to be the source of Noboribetsu's hot spring waters. It was only about 5 minutes away from the hotel and easily accessible . . . which was a good thing because I was feeling pretty tired by this time.

no monkeys?? I think when we went to Noboribetsu we saw monkeys. I gotta go look at my old scrapbooks...I know that was your dream to see scary monkeys in Hokkaido!! ha!
