A couple of weeks ago my mom and I had lunch at Shirokiya. I wanted to try out the ramen, so I picked this place.
I got the Miso Ramen with Gyoza. The ramen was good; the gyoza not too good. All in all, it wasn't worth the 13 bucks I ended up paying.

That place is kind of expensive and so so at best.
Holy Moly....pat of butter ???
I thought so too Erick.
Soooo neva need the butter Didi.
I went to shirokiyas bc of all the promos for the ramen, but when I got there I could see it wasnt worth they were charging. I was hoping for some authentic noodles and it was sun noodles. So why the big ticket price ? Perhaps it to pay for the airfare of the ramen chefs ? ;O)
Sorry it wasnt a good experience.
I was excited about trying the curry but it didnt look so "hot" in both respects...
Wonder how shirokiyas is going to keep up this new format, the other booths were lacking in variety and customers :(
13 bucks? wow...you can go to Tenkaippin for cheaper. You should go try the ramen at Goma Ichi on Keeaumoku....it's the best! = )
Wow!!! Never thought Shirokiya's ramen would be more expensive that ramen shops.
The pat of butter is different and the corn...looks good though
Anon, I guess I was expecting more, hence the disappointment.
Mmiissee, I have yet to try Goma Ichi. I've heard really good things about the place.
I know Anon, me too.
Betty, the ramen actually was good, but just not worth the price.
I'm glad you said that cause I've been meaning to try there...I agree with mmiissee...GomaIchi or Goma Tei is yummy!!
Someday I gotta try those places, Les. I haven't been to either.
I, too, agree with mmilssee. Goma Ichi on Keeaumoku is has one of the best Tan Tan Mien. I crave for theirs. U & Leslie got to go. Field Trip!!! Field Trip!!!!! LOL!!! - lance
Now I REALLY gotta go check them out Lance!
You should try Yotteko-ya too! It's at McCully shopping center. That's my favorite!
Thanks Taryn! Never been there either. Maybe I'll take my mom and go check it out!
