Meren is my coworker. He is also Kino's uncle. When I met Meren on his first day of work with us, I didn't know that he was related to Kino, but I immediately recognized that he was Micronesian. Meren often recounts our first meeting. He says that he had felt very out of place and didn't think that he could last the day. That is until I walked through the door and greeted him saying, "Ran annim. Ifa usum?" "Hello. How are you?" Meren has been with us for 6 years now, and I'm so glad he decided to stay. 'Cause I just love him to death.
I met Meren and his family at Stadium Park today for their very first family photos. His daughter Jamachlyn was very eager and excited to be taking pictures. The boys, however, didn't seem to share her enthusiasm so we did a really quick session and then went to get some Waiola shave ice. Yummm!!

Les, I'm sooo glad I changed the location. The boys woulda felt REALLY uncomfortable at Kewalos.
I agree Kat.
Thanks Betty. I love Waiola shave ice.
Great pics of the family and the kids. it's great that you can see from the kids pics who is reserved and who loves having pictures taken. Great job getting them to pose for you! The shave ice pics made me crave for it..YUMMMMMM!
Shun Wah, do you remember those little bendable rubber figures that had wire in um and you could kinda pose them how you wanted? Working with the boys was kinda like that but they were stiffer. Hahaha!
What a small world, so cool he is Kino's uncle. Great shots of the kids, I love the girl with the bright cloths. The shave ice looks so cool and refreshing. I Jellos!
Pretty neat yeah, Erick! I could use a shave ice right about now too.
