One other thing that me and Les like to do besides take pictures is rubber stamping. Photography kinda took over my life, though, and my greeting card supply is now sorely depleted. I bought this You Make Me Happy stamp set awhile back 'cause I thought it was so cute, but I never even used it. I decided to use it yesterday and do some stamping. Plus, I recently cleared up my dresser top so I now have a spacious work area to use in the best lit room in the house, the bedroom.
This is my finished card. I totally stole the idea from Kiemel4 at Splitcoast Stampers.
I like to make a bunch so that busting out all the supplies is worth it.
I bought this carpet tape at the swap meet years and years ago for about a buck. Good deal yeah!
I cut it into little pieces . . .
and use it like so, to help give some dimension to the flower.
This is the start of the tag.
Tag puncher
I put a green and yellow trim on the tag. I eyeballed and cut it out with a scissors.
The good thing about making handmade stuff is it doesn't have to be perfect . . . it's handmade . . . so eyeballing is okay.
Puka puncher
Pretty neat, hah!!
This will be the trim on the left side.
Attach a ribbon to the trim.
Attach your tag to the ribbon with another ribbon.
Glue to card.
And Voila!!!
Don't you just feel like making yourself a bunch of cards now??!!!
thanks for today

So cute! Geez, I was just thinking the other day if I should get rid of my stamps. But when I go look at them I always change my mind cause some of them are so cute and I know I would want to use them later on!! I think I gotta go on hoarders pretty soon...
I can imagine all the stamping supplies YOU must have. I gotta start using mine more . . . my inks are drying up and the cardstock getting faded . . . lose money.
love rubber stamping too, have a whole plastic storage bin of them!
Hey Kat, I knew you were into beading from your craft blog, but didn't know you liked rubber stamping too! High five sistah!
high five! in fact I get those same scissors like you :)
Wow! So neat...I liked it when you mentioned that it doesn't have be perfect. What are you going to do with the finished cards? Where did you buy the set from?
Hahahaha! Funny, Kat!
wow! u so talented! very cool ;-) i gatta send my cousin dis link cuz she's into making cards too :-O
Mmiissee, I also completed some of my unfinished projects and made more cards (I'll post pictures later) along with these. I'm gonna give them away and save some to use myself. The set is from Stampin' Up. You can check um out online. Les used to sell their products.
Thanks Rand. Les used to give classes. I'll be sure to invite you if she ever does again!
holy cow...that is the largest roll of double stick foam (carpet tape??) I've ever seen! It should last you a lifetime! and all for a buck?!! what a deal! That's a great idea to use a cutting board..it's durable and no worries about glue..I never thought of that..Very cute card! I have a collection of stamps sitting in a box somewhere too..:-(
Shun Wah, I think I bought that roll over 10 years ago . . . and I bought TWO! I gave the other one away. Amazing that it's still good yeah! And you have stamps too?!
Wow, so creative. You copy so well. I like the cute little tools to.
Thanks Erick. Come to think of it, I've always been a pretty good copycat.
I used to be "into" rubber stamping too and collected enough stamps & supplies to fit in a plastic Iris 6 drawer storage! I eventually gave my stamps away because it was just taking up space! When I see cute stuff like what you made, I get the itch to stamp again, then I gotta smack myself for thinking that! LOL
Hey, I had a roll of carpet tape like that that also lasted about 10yrs! haha
Jos, that's so funny. It DOES take up a LOT of space. I try to keep my supplies tucked away in a corner, but I also have odds and ends in various places throughout the house. So lucky the people you gave your stuff to. Funny about the carpet tape!
Oh jalna!!! I am so proud of you. I just knew the itch to stamp would come to you again. I LOVE your cards. Hey, in the stamp world its called "CASE" (copy and share with everyone) and its perfectly okay. I CASE a lot. So now that you made these cards, you need to make more. Oh, I don't have that little punch you used...it must be SU.
Hey, Les...get those stamps out and make something. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't be stamping!! :) And all you others too that said they have stamps. It is so rewarding to see something you've created even if it was CASE'd!!
I forgot...I was going to say I use that foam tape all the time to pop things up with. It lasts a long time because you only have to use a tiny piece.
The sisters need a card making day !!! Easter perhaps ??
Hahaha, Betty, I do believe you said you'd do a "happy dance" if I ever stamped again. You know I get my inspiration from you. I've seen the term "CASE" before, but never knew what it meant. The punches are from Stampin Up.
Didi, maybe if I can get my act together, we can have a card-making day. I have so much supplies that I need to use up before they get all dried up or faded.
Hey Dd...do you stamp? I've been bugging jalna and Les about getting into stamping again. So you need to bug her for me! :) I sure enjoy the time I spend stamping. :)
And yes, jalna...I did a "happy dance"!!!!
