I'd been wanting to go back to the aquarium for awhile, and I figured with the rain and wind today, it would be easy to find parking next to Kapiolani Park. I was right. I was so happy to see the jellyfish tank stocked with my favorite blue jellyfish. I pretty much spent the whole time there.
wow..these are so awesome!! you got those elusive jellyfishes!! What lens did you use? what was your setting? I wanna know..I wanna know.. I've tried so many times and it's so hard to get them!!
Thanks Shun Wah! I used two lenses. 50mm f1.4 and 100mm macro f2.8. Woulda been nice to have the new IS version macro. My ISO was set to 1600 on all of the shots with settings between 1/160 and 1/100 with f stop between 4.0 and 6.3. I also tried to lean on the walls whenever I could. I've been to the aquarium before when the jellyfishes were smaller and more active. It was just impossible to capture them then.
oooooooooh da nice!! I should've went with you...i wasted the day lying in bed cause it was nice and cozy, but getting irritated trying to get out of the temple of spirits! I think you were a little more productive than me.

Thanks Erick. You and Shun Wah should go soon. I don't know how long they live, but they're at a good size now.
Thanks Kat!
Oh wow, beautiful shots. I love to watch them too, so interesting when they are active. It has been years since I've been to the Aquarium.
Thanks Betty. I wanna go back already!

Les, I wasn't much more productive than you actually.
wow! fantastic shots! iso 1600? wow; they sure look great!
Thanks Rand. Actually, I tend to use 1600 ISO a lot in low light situations.
Wow!!!! You certainly got such detail shots!!! Awesome!!!
