Merchant Street Market

I never, ever go downtown during the weekdays, but I needed to drop off something so I found myself there this past Tuesday. Boy, did I feel like a country bumpkin in my shorts and t-shirt walking amongst all these well-dressed, fast-moving, important-looking business people with far more important agendas on their minds than I ever did.

My parking meter only allowed enough coins for half hour max and my destination was a few blocks away, so I really needed to hele on. There I was, making good time when all of a sudden the smell of food stopped me dead in my tracks.

According to Pat of Pat's Peanuts, vendors set up their tents every second and fourth Tuesday to sell their onolicous food.

I bought a sun-dried tomato and cheese sandwich for $5 . . .

which they grilled up for me. Kinda tasted like a pizza.

The ono smell was coming from here where chicken and kalbi were being grilled.

I wanted to buy this Taro Mochi, but would you believe I did refrain. By the time I got back to my car the meter had expired. No ticket though . . . whew!
