Inspired by Erick's contest-winning photo from the Plantation Village, I wanted to go check out the village myself. I lucked out 'cause Erick wanted to go back again, so we both went there this past Saturday. Is it just me or are there others out there who've lived here their whole lives and never been to the Plantation Village? It was pretty neat going through the tunnel and back in time.
OOOohh!! You gotta look really good through your pictures!!! Plantation Village has PLENNY spiritual activity. I've done some extreme ghost hunting but never brave enough to walk through the village past dusk. ooooOOOOooooOOooOHHHH!!
I'm so glad you and Erick visited again. This is a fantastic place and we enjoyed our visit there. I especially thought about my ancestors (Portuguese & Chinese) who were a part of this time and lived in the plantation villages scattered around the islands. Your pictures are awesome!!
Wow Yosh . . . ghosts!!! Oooooooh! Now I really like go back.
Thanks Betty. Me and Erick enjoyed the picture taking so much that our tour group left us far behind. In fact we got lapped by the next group. I still wish I could've stayed longer, but after about 2 hours I was beat.
I vaguely remember the ice man coming to our house with a block of ice for our "icebox" maybe every or every other day. Shows you what an old fut I am.
Nate, I knew it!!! I don't remember one, but I suspected there must've been an ice man. I wondered aloud to Erick about it. I wondered where the "ice box" was. Do you see one in any of my pictures?
Nice pictures!!! I must be really old cuz I remember lots and lots of the things that you took pictures of. Let me know if you go back again, I'd like to go as I've never been.
Love the time tunnel shot! your shots came out really bright and nicely exposed..despite what I remember the indoors being really dark. hee..hee.. you got the double outhouse shot. And, we actually had one of those stone grinders before. Great shots of the old photos too. I thought I saw everything but looking at your pics, I sure missed a lot!
Shun Wah, I felt the same way looking at Erick's photos . . . like I missed so much. It was hard taking pictures with the mixed lighting. I had to take choke shots of each scene trying to get it right, and some I never did get it right.

So cool! I feel like I took a ride in the time machine back to 1910. Great shoots!

never been...but that furo shot brings back memories of the furo at my grandpa's.
Kat, I only vaguely remember somebody having their own furo, might've been a neighbor.
