Kona and the Rubber Chicken

I spent 4 bucks on this rubber chicken for Kona.

He looked at it like this.
He didn't like it.
He tried to ignore it.
He didn't even want to touch it.
What's wrong with it anyway? It looks like a fun thing to me.
So anybody want a rubber chicken? Only $3.50.

Tango

After our Peeps photo shoot yesterday, my mom was hungry for some pancakes, so Leslie suggested we try out Tango. I'm glad we took her advice.

Tango is next to P.F. Chang's on Ala Moana Boulevard.

My mom ordered this Hawaiian Isle Kona Blend Coffee, and boy was it strong. It was $1.95 including one refill. No one came with the refill, and I was kinda glad. I didn't think she needed another cup.
She also ordered this Blueberry Pancake with pure maple syrup ($7.50). She said it was really good, and it must've been 'cause she ate almost all of it.
I ordered the Swedish Pancakes with Fresh Fruit ($7.75). It came with whipped cream. I liked it.
This couple turned out to be sooo nice, that I wished I had asked for their permission to photograph their Loco Moco Eggs Benedict ($9.50). It really looked good and they said that it was. In fact, they said that they had come especially for it. When I mentioned to coworker CQ that my mom and I had gone there, the first thing she said was, "Did you try the Loco Moco?"

Les in Action for the National Geographic Peeps Contest

Leslie's always up for a challenge and she couldn't resist trying to get shots to enter into the National Geographic's photo contest called Peeps in Places Photo Challenge. I totally had a blast being her assistant today. Check out her shots at her blog, Leslie's pics.

This spot was nice, but you couldn't see any water.
So we moved to here, but as you can tell by Les' hair it was way too windy and we couldn't keep our props from falling down.
I'm sure you've all seen photographers in this position while trying to keep their cameras steady. That's my mom in the background, by the way.
And I'm sure you've all come across this scene when you go to the beach.
Not to be distracted or anything, but this lifeguard stand caught my eye. I'd never seen anything like it before.
I lucked out 'cause the lifeguards came and I got to take pictures of them opening up their "office".

Dinner at CPK

I had a $20 gift card that was gonna expire at the end of this month so me and Wendell had dinner the other night at CPK.
We started off with the Cabo Crab Cakes ($10.99). It was really ono, but it was also really tiny. The wide angle lens that I used makes the crab cake look bigger than it actually was . . . about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. We also had the Waldorf Chicken Salad ($13.49). It was sooo ono. I loved the candied walnuts and the grapes and apples . . . so refreshing.
This is the Pepperoni and Sausage Pizza, Neopolitan Style ($12.79). It was good . . . like pepperoni pizza with a thin crust.
I was too full for dessert, so I just got a picture of the next table's ice cream sundaes instead. Boy, that looks good right now.

Taco Thursday

Ume Preserves at Marukai

When I was at Marukai, I found these ume preserves. I looooove them. There were two different kinds. The only difference I can tell between the two is that the first (pink wrapper) is a bit plumper and maybe not as tart as the second version (gold wrapper). They were about $5 a bag and I think there're about 20 individually wrapped pieces in each.
