Please Wear a Mask

Please watch this video.

Wendell tries to do his part whenever he has to go out. I believe that this small effort is key to helping us flatten that curve.  I think that the least we can do is try. Please try.

Thanks for sharing jalna. I had to go Target on Sunday to pick some stuff up, I wore my mask and only saw a few others doing the same. Wearing a mask will minimally stop you from touching your face as much as you normally would. Hope you folks are staying safe.

Jenny, thank you! I went out for the first time yesterday to mail something at the drive through mailbox at the post office and then to pick up breakfast at McDonald's drive through. I stayed in the car the whole time but I still wore a mask. I was so surprised and kinda saddened when I saw that every single person that went into the nearby Longs and came out was not wearing a mask. I'm sure it's because of the mixed reports on mask usage that we received initially. But I really do believe that it will help. BTW, thank you for the Zippy's chili recipe on your blog!

For now, the advice posted on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website: “If you are NOT sick: You do not need to wear a face mask unless you are caring for someone who is sick (and they are not able to wear a face mask).”

I stand corrected as of now, this WHO and CDC says we don't have to. My apologies for the inaccurate info. HOWEVER, I'm going to wear a mask the Czech woman recommended on the Video. Eh, better safe than sorry.

Been wondering if I should mention, depends on why you guys wear masks. If it is mostly to prevent you from touching your faces, it doesn't matter which way you wear them. However, if it is to keep from catching stuff from other people or as a barrier if you're sick, then you should wear the mask with the side that the elastic is fastened on the outside. This helps minimize openings so the nasties can't get in. If you notice, by wearing the elastic on the inside, it creates a gap alongside the cheek. When worn on the outside, it helps hold the side of the mask flatter against your cheek.
I remembered this from going to Shanghai and couple people I was traveling with were sick. They wore masks but I was sitting next to one of them and whenever she coughed, a blast of air shot out the sides right on me. Ewwww. Thank goodness I didn't get sick. Maybe because she had food poisoning and not a cold. LOL. But the horror of feeling that air blast right on your face!!!! She might have well coughed directly in my face!!

That was a good video! I have been lax and go out to run errands without a mask but lately, I wear one. I was at the post office and the lady in front of me was right behind the girl in front of her and I stayed 6 feet away. Meanwhile, another girl was standing right behind me, and then she started coughing. Ho! So rude and in this day and time, it got me paranoid. So now, I wear a mask. Maybe I'll sew some too because I heard that the hospitals need them.

I will also share your video on my website. Thanks, eh!!!

We wore a mask when we went out twice before. I'm definitely wearing a mask. Period. I really think the CDC is just saying that thinking that if they say we should wear masks, people will start using masks that should go to medical personnel. I do think those N95s should go to them, but I also think everyone else should wear cloth or whatever ones too. Did you hear that Japan is giving out cloth masks to every household in Japan?
