Flood Again
I gotta hurry with this post because Wendell is outside cleaning up and I'm supposed to be cleaning up inside, but wanted to show you peoples what I gotta do today.
We got flooded. Again. I posted a picture here from the last time it happened. Anyway, after the other flood Wendell hired somebody to redirect the rain gutters on our roof so that the water would drain onto a totally different part of the yard, and it was working great. Until last night.
It happened so suddenly. Wendell was on his way out and decided to check the yard first. Water was already coming into the house!!
Long story short. It was worse than the last time. I even called 911. I called Landon and asked him to come home. He was fishing. In the thunderstorm. But who knew, right.
After I take care of the curtains I gotta go and dig out stuff from the closet in my craft/hoarder room. Water went all the way there.
K, so gotta go before I get busted . . .

Oh no! So sorry to hear you got flooded. Lots of my friends and coworkers live around there. I hear traffic is also still really bad this morning. Take care, I hope the damage isn't too bad. - L
j: OMG I am so sorry. When I was on Facebook I was seeing all kind of reports (before the news began) and I thought of you first thing since it was hitting Hawaii Kai pretty bad. Then on the news I saw all the traffic and was thinking uh oh again. You were in my thoughts but I thought oh I think they fixed it last time. The irony was here in Kunia, it was mostly dry...one quick moving shower and that was it though I sat outside to watch the thunder over the mountains. Even over town I couldn't see much rain. I think it just unloaded on your side...though my landlady's b/f said Waianae was hit pretty badly too. Does your insurance cover any of this, if you have flood insurance. I think so much water came down at once everything got overwhelmed. Hope you and your family are okay -N
Oh no! I feel so bad for you. Prayers your way and hope there is something that can be done to prevent it from happening again. Last night's rain was unreal!

Oh, you poor ting!!! Yuck yuck yuck.
I hope Landon caught fish since he was out there like some crazy buggah.
Has to be more than just the rain gutters. I think you may need to dig drainage ditches around the perimeter of your yard.
Oh no! So sorry you got flooded again!!! I was worried about the rain too since my gutters are all busted! I got my rain gear ready and shovel just in case I had to dig a trench but didn't have to. Whew. Traffic was sooooo bad every which way in HK!
L, did you see footage of the raging water on Kal highway? Scary! So glad I wasn't on the road.
Thanks, N. We have hurricane insurance, not flood.
Izsmom, thank you.
Aunty, he's still out there. His "secret spot" is on this end so he stays out all weekend. He comes home to recoup for a couple hours and then goes back out again.
Mark, that's what the Red Cross guy said.
Whew, Annie! Glad you did okay.
Oh wow, we had some kind of downpour here yesterday too! Not as bad as yours. Years ago our downstairs got flooded in one area after a long drawn out downpour. Con:lotsa cleaning up. Pro: clean floors...we have concrete floors. I see you have the wood floors I love...eep! Hope things are better for ya'll today!
glad you guys are safe...poor kona!! I don't know what I'd do if I saw all that water gushing into my house.
yikes! scary!
Yah, Susan, beloved wood floors are ruined. Thinking we should replace with tile, but dunno . . . Wendell is da boss.
Thanks Les!
Kat, it was scary.
Wow, looks pretty bad.
