Our house got flooded yesterday. Wendell's gonna go buy another pump to replace the small vintage one that we have. Besides worrying about the damage to our floor, I was scared that we were gonna get electrocuted.
Oh no! So sorry to hear that!! I hope the damage isn't too bad. Do you guys live near a stream? I saw pics of some streams on the East side really getting full. And some friends on the Windward side looked like had a pond in their backyard. We live on a mountain side more Central side, so the all the water kind of just went through our property and continued on down the hill. Sending you warm wishes! - L
OMG, Mich . . . Landon had borrowed his friend's pump and he was outside in the rain drying to divert some of the water. I was terrified for him.
Thank you, L! We never had this problem before, but it seems like all the rain water gathers at the one corner of our yard. Looks like the damage to the floor is minimal . . . it's just kinda bubbled up at some of the seams. Wendell actually installed the floor himself, and he said he has extra planks if we decide to replace them.
j: OMG, with that continuous rain I was worried about flooding on the island...even my backyard filled up with water and the water slowly was creeping up on the lanai...but the rain stopped just in time. Never saw so much rain in one day. I'm so sorry to hear what happened but you're lucky you got two handy men to help. Me, I'll just be freaking out!! God bless and take care! - N
Yikes! We were at the Convention Center yesterday for the TCOYD conference and kept hearing people's flood warnings going off on the cellphones. By the time we left in the afternoon the sun was out. We were wondering how bad it was though. Now I see it really was a big problem. Wow!
Too bad Jalna! There has to be a way to dig water diversion channels around the back and sides of your house. You could line them with lava rock to make them look nice. Like little creeks!
That was some crazy rain yesterday - and today, super hot and sunny! Hope that helped dry up your place. Maybe you need a trench or diversion in that corner. Might be because you need another ice machine.... MOOOOOhahahaha!

Oh no! Scary! Glad the damage is minimal, but so stressful!
Take care.

Sorry.
Thanks, Izsmom.
N, you're totally right about freaking out . . . that would be me if I did't have Wendell and Landon.
Kay, I never thought big rains would affect my house.
Thanks Susan . . . we are back to normal now . . . except the floors are cleaner. LOL!
It was, Kat.
LOL, sounds pretty, Mark.
Hahahahaha, Aunty.
What a nightmare! Our house floods on occasion too. Hope there wasn't any permanent damage.

AWWWWW hope everything is ok now. :(
Yours does too, Myra?! We were totally unprepared. The floor is bubbled up at some of the seams, but I can live with it.
Thanks Susie . . . we're good now.
oh my!.... i hope you folks are ok.
Wow, that's a lot of water. You need a dam.
Wow! What a nightmare! Glad to hear the damage wasn't really bad!
