Yosegi


Yosegi is the Japanese art of marquetry, an ancestral technique that consists of sticking together pieces of wood to create geometric patterns.

When I went to Japan a couple years ago we went to Hakone and they had those boxes where it takes several steps to open. Well...they had all these boxes with designs like this. Now I know how they did it! Sooo cool! I didn't pay attention and didn't buy one then : (
