Ooooh! This is so pretty....
j: I watching the bees the next day and yup, they avoid certain flowers and they looked like the photos you posted. Like me, the bees could be pollinating them when you're not looking. Good luck! - N
Good NEWS Jalna !!! " Lemon trees are self-fruitful, so there is no need to plant a second tree. Citrus trees require heat, good drainage and moist soil to thrive, but most types of citrus, including lemon, are self-fruitful and do not require cross-pollination to set fruit. "
interesting...
Yeah but sometimes our female parts have, um 'issues' too lol!
THANKS for the sweet package you sent me! I LOVE the Totoro charm you made, the sweet notepad and bookmark too. Big Mahalos! Ima send you a little something too. But it may take me a little while: I walked to the waikiki post office like every morning for 25 years. But now I'm way up in the country and don't get to the PO that often. I like your lemon flowers. Laters Sistah
Abort the mission...lol. The plant looks beautiful, it almost looks similar to one of the orchid variety my mother use to raise.
All I can guess, is that you have a male tree.
I think sometimes when you buy a tree they can be grafted with a branch added from another tree. So a male tree can be grafted with a female branch. Now you have a dual species tree. If they are not grafted then you need two trees. A male and a female planted in your yard. Try looking this up. I think this is what is going on.
Thanks Kay.
Thank you, N.
Crossing fingers, Ainakoa!!
Right, Kat?
You're welcome, Cloudia!
Hahahaha, Chet . . . I'm thinking the same thing!
That would be bummahs, Mark.
Jalna....Psssst! Just sneak into your nearest nursery with your Qtip! ; )
Hahahahaha, sooo funny . . . but Mark . . . I have plenty of the pollen. I need the other part.
We have an avocado tree that has choke flowers...but never fruited. I think it's related to your lemon tree somehow. It also reminds me of these papaya trees with huge flowers but no fruit! Yup, all related!!
Susan, I think you're right . . . related.
so interesting....i'm curious to see how this pans out!
Me too, Les!!!
