That's great the measuring glass was put to good use. Thank you posting that, it good to learn something new. Here's another application to measure shots of vodka, whiskey or even drink beer out of it.

Funny, Susie.
Jalna and friends. I found a fun use for my 1 cup Anchor Hocking measuring cup tonight! For some unknown reason, tonight I wanted to experiment making my first ever poached egg. So I started checking youtube. I didn't like how everyone seemed to just put the eggs in a large pot of boiling water and the whites fly all around.
I wanted to figure out how I could keep my egg small nice and round. Then I had the idea of using my 1 cup AH. Put one egg in the measuring cup and top with water just over the egg. Then set the measuring cup in a pot of water and bring to boil. The hot water in the pot cooks the egg by heating the water in the measuring cup.
My first one took about 15 min. to cook. But I made it a little harder than I wanted. So just watch it close and adjust your cook time to how you like it, runny or not. Then I buttered bread and toasted in the toaster oven. Then I spread raspberry jam on the toast and installed poached egg on top. YUMMERS!
Here is how I got the idea. From this video. It gave me the idea of using a separate container for the egg while poaching so your egg does not turn into a total mess in a large pot of water.
I think you and your friends will like these little cooking pouches.
