We had about an hour of free time after breakfast before our departure time so Sweetie and I went for a short walk.
The temperature was cool and crisp and the colors glorious.
Steam escaped through vents all along the streets.
So pretty!
We visited the gift shop of a huge hotel called Hotel Mahoroba which was up the street.
This stream ran alongside our hotel.

So beautiful and serene. Thanks for sharing!

Gorgeous pictures! I used to like the hotel gift shops - they have things that you can't find elsewhere. I used to buy the best hair brushes (when I had long hair) and the cutest music boxes (when I used to collect music boxes). Of course, that was when the yen to dollar was at 240, so prices were good. Ancient times, it seems.
Experiencing fall is on my bucket list. For now, experiencing fall through your pics is great!
so pretty!
Awww . . . welcome, Izsmom.
Thanks Aunty! I like music boxes too . . . but not really the boxes. I just like the mechanism. I like to watch the cylinder spinning around and then listen for the sound when a spoke hits the metal teeth. When I first went to Japan, yen was around 360!!
I hope you get to see the colors for yourself, Susan.
Kat, fall might be my favorite season.
soo pretty! I wish the colors were that nice when we went up :(. Glad you got to experience it...
Will have to put fall on my bucket list too. Love the colors during the season. The sakura in March and April were so vibrant this year. Thanks for sharing you pics and narratives. Can't wait for next year to Hokkaido.
But Les, it was very colorful when we went a few years back. In fact it was even more colorful then than this year as we went further south.
Chet, so wonderful that you got to see sakura! And next year lavender in Hokkaido . . . so exciting! Are you going to Hokkaido with Panda Travel?
Jalna, our Hokkaido trip will on the Princess Cruise ship....very excited. Hope, I don't get sea sick....don't have sea legs....lol!
Ho da exciting, Chet!! I was just looking at Non-Stop Travel's cruise itineraries. I like the idea of not having to change hotels everyday. I did go on a Princess Cruise trip to Alaska a long time ago, and it was very smooth riding.
Very pretty! Nice pics!
