Some of you may know that I looooove Meyer lemons. I even bought a little tree once awhile back. Unfortunately, no matter how hard I tried to take care of it, the tree died.
I don't know why I hadn't thought of this sooner, but it occurred to me that I should try and grow a tree from a seed. It's a lot cheaper than buying trees. So I went online and found a YouTube video that shows you how to do it.
First I cut off the husk part of the seed to expose the inside. I used a kitchen scissors to trim off a tiny slice and then I opened it up with my fingers.
Then I put the seeds inside of a plastic bag with a wet paper towel.
Look!! I actually took this picture about a week ago, so they're a little bigger right now. I was gonna put them in a pot with soil this morning, but when I went outside, I couldn't find my bag of potting soil. I'm gonna try and go to City Mill today and get me a bag with Miracle Grow in it!! I'll keep you posted.
Here's the video.

Ooooh, I think she's gonna have fun Grace!
Grace told me about this post and I thought it was too late because I just threw away some Meyer lemon seeds that molded. However, I found them still in the trash. I rescued them, removed the hull and put them in a plastic bag with a wet paper towel. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you so much for posting this.
Good luck, Kay!!
