We got there pretty early, but it was already kinda crowded. The lines were actually not long at all though.
There were a lot of fancy chilis like this one that had a cornbread pancake and a cheesy rice cracker.
And this one by Willows Restaurant . . .
that had a couple of pieces of short ribs plated under the chili and a taro croquette on the side.
Would you believe me and Wendell voted for this plain-looking French Country Chili . . .

done by Hank's Haute Dogs. It had duck and pork stew in it. Ono chili.

makin me hungry!
Kat, I was so full from tasting the chilis.
Rand, I clicked on your link and was shocked to see that Hank's is a local establishment. All this time I thought it was a mainland franchise.
Betty, it was!
Hey David! Be seeing you soon!
Awww man! We were bummed to find out this was happening while we were gonna be away. Randy loves chili and he would've loved to go. So who won? Or did you blog it and I wasn't paying attention? hahahaa!!
OMG ... CASSOULET !! My favorite...ALL, Hank's was just recenlty featured on TV Food Network's Diner's Drive In's and Dives...Glenn goes there almost every Sat, in fact, we just had lunch yesterday !! Try their truffled mac & cheese. Hey, who won ??
Les and Didi, me and Wendell couldn't remember the name of the restaurant that made the first chili in this post, the one with the cornbread pancake and rice cracker. They're the ones who won and now I know . . . Beach House at the Moana Surfrider!
