Cakes from Bran

Do you remember Brandee?  She's the one that spent a few months at a school in France learning the fine art of baking pastries and breads.  She called me today. She said that she had made a three-tiered wedding cake this past Friday. She said that each tier had a different flavor, and she said that she had some leftover, and did I want any?  I didn't even bother to ask how she had some leftover wedding cake.  I just said, "Shoots!"

This is a Yellow Chiffon cake with Chambord liquor.  The filling is raspberry buttercream.

This is a Cuban Wedding Cake, a rum-soaked tres leches (three milk) cake.  It has a banana buttercream filling.

The last cake is a Chocolate Chiffon with Coffee Syrup.  It has a coffee buttercream filling.

I honestly can't tell you which one was my favorite . . . all three were so good.  I had dropped some off at my mom's, and when I called her tonight, she said they were all "deeeeelicious!".   I asked Bran how much she would charge for making one of these.  She said probably around $100 for a 12 x 12-inch cake.  I think that's a bargain.  If anybody wants to order a cake, you can contact me at JalnaA@aol.com.
