HPU School of Social Work Pinning Ceremony - May 16, 2011
This past Monday, a couple of days before Hawaii Pacific University's actual 2011 Spring/Summer graduation ceremony, the HPU School of Social Work had their own special pinning ceremony for their graduates at the Parke Chapel at St. Andrew's Cathedral. The ceremony is a "symbolic welcoming of newly graduated social workers into the growing profession of Social Work. Each graduate is pinned (with a unique SW pin) by someone who has been a significant support system through their college journey...usually a family member, spouse, child, teacher, best friend, etc."
Coworker Greg's wife Denise, a proud graduate herself asked if I would be available to shoot some pictures for them. I sure was, and good ole Erick was also free to help. Thanks Erick! And thanks for treating me to the ono ramen afterwards!
I wish I could've posted pictures of all of the graduates getting pinned, but there were maybe 40 or 50 of them. Here are just a few.
