A very strange thing just happened to me. I was driving to Waimanalo to pick up eggs when all of a sudden I felt as if I didn't quite know how to drive. I didn't know where to focus my gaze or how to judge my speed. Maybe it was the earliness of hour or the windy road or the low sun in my face. Not sure.
Please see your doctor. Glad you made it home. My friend has dizzy spell, couldn't stand. He called the ambulance, was diagnosed with vertigo. Driving can be a challenge for me at nights, try to limit it.
Thank you, Chet. I remembered later that I got a smidgen of that same feeling the last time I went to get eggs. I wonder if the drive along the cliffs unknowingly causes me anxiety. I'll keep your advice in mind though.
Thanks Susan. I needed to go to the day care to pick up something soon after I got home. It's a short, much more relaxing drive, and I started feeling better.
Glad you’re ok. Try taking a magnesium supplement. Magnesium is known as a calming mineral. It has helped me with my anxiety issues. The best types to take you can find at Whole Foods, Down to Earth or Amazon. (magnesium Glycinate or Magnesium Taurate, or Magnesium Malate.)
j: happened to me once when I was driving in Mililani on a road I drove on countless times. All of a sudden I didn't recognize where I was, where I was heading, everything looked strange to me and I panicked! But in a few it passed and knew what and where. I then wondered if folks with dementia are like that ALL the time and if so, no wonder they get freaked out easily -N
Scary! Maybe there is some bit of a vortex on that route. It does feel like it is a spiritually charged place, going from dry and barren to drop dead gorgeous ocean and cliff.
Drink more water! Dehydration can make you dizzy, confused and if severe enough it can make you faint.
Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water per day. I'm #180 so I drink 90 ounces Plus of water per day. Use the same size cup all day long so you can keep track of how many glasses of water you drink every day.
I use Tall 30 ounce plastic cups from a fast food restaurant. I drink 3 plus from them. And I'm fully hydrated every day.The Key is, you need to keep track of your daily water input!
