A short distance away from our hotel was the Tobu World Square, a theme park featuring over a hundred 1:25 scale models of famous buildings from around the world.

We were given about an hour to roam the park, and we ran out of time quickly. Too bad, because we didn't get to see the Asia Zone and Japan Zone.
On our way to our final destination of the trip (Odaiba in Tokyo) we made a lunch stop in a pottery town called Mashiko in the Tochigi Prefecture.
The restaurant was located in the Tsukamoto Shopping Plaza.
Once again lunch was only $10. The pink flower-shaped dish in the front is labeled "Karashi Maitake" (mustard-flavored mushroom) and it was really, really good. Because of the advertising label on the dish I wondered if it might be sold there, and I asked. Sure enough it was. I brought home two boxes (which didn't hold much) and it got eaten up real fast. I wish I could reproduce it.

Wow. That's a cool theme park, down to scale. That's an affordable lunch for $10.

Susan, crossing my fingers for your brother. I think that the soup had a plain dashi broth, but I can't really remember.
