Thanks to the rental car agent who helped us, we found out that Wailua Falls, a beautiful twin waterfall, was easily accessible and close to our hotel.
Sure enough, after a short drive we came to the waterfall, only yards away from a nearby parking lot. So easy.

Here is my attempt at being artistic by trying to get the waterfall to look smooth and blurry. I propped the camera on a stone wall and set it to 1/8 at f22.

Here is a similar shot at 1/320, f9.

That's what makes photography so cool . . . and so challenging . . .

all are so pretty!
Unreal! So complicated but wonderful results. Hard to choose!
Thanks, Kat!
Amazing what can be done with a few buttons yah, Aunty.
Good thing had the wall yah? I still wanna see the drone video that the dude was taking...
OMG, that must look unreal, Les.
I've been visiting Kauai and Wailua Falls since I was a little kid in the early 1960's. When I was a kid there was a huge log stuck on top of the falls. I don't see that now in your pics Jalna. A huge rain must have finally pushed it over the top. Maybe Hurricane Iniki.
My favorite place on Kauai is the Hanalei area, and I love the bay. And your earlier pics of the dock. I played there when I was a kid. When I was a kid we used to always stay at the old Hanalei Hotel. That hotel was built on the mountain slope and had a tram to take you to your room down the hill! So fun as a kid to do this!
My favorite Hawaiian Island though is The Big Island! So huge, the climate is so diverse! And it's really "The Friendly Isle"! Plus, no get Traffic! ; )
I always love your memories, Mark!!
Thanks Jalna! I love your Blog! ; )
How beautiful! I think I can sit there all day !!
Susan, our car rental lady said that too. She said that it's her favorite place to visit.
