We left on Thursday, July 7. Our flight time was around 7:30 a.m. So exciting! I had only been to Kauai once before . . . looooong time ago when they only had one traffic light.
and tuna mayo. So ono. The flight was only about 1/2 hour long. We were there in no time at all. Leslie neva even get chance to fall asleep. She's usually cutting zzzzz's before the plane even takes off! I not lying.
This is the airport in Lihue.
This is where we waited for the shuttle to our rental car place. As you can see, we wasted no time changing into our boro boro clothes.
Here's our car. Jeeps seem to be popular there.
We stayed at the Kauai Inn . . . cute place in Nawiliwili near a small boat harbor.
Here's the concierge.
Here's our room. We actually just wanted to leave our stuff, but they let us check in even though we were "choke early" and way before check-in time. We freshened up and lingered for only a little while. We didn't want to waste any time starting our newest adventure! Make sure you check out Leslie's pics for her first post!
OMG Aunty, you have a flair for design. I was thinking . . . what striped bedskirts? what Hawaiian print bed spread? I had to go back and look at the picture. LOL!
Really wish you coulda come too, Susie. Woulda been just like the time we went to Washington . . . oh, except with a whole lot less gear for me. I took only one lens and no flash this time. No can handle the weight of all the gear anymore.
Ho da nice your pics from the plane! I forgot you took them! Michele? really? That woulda been fun! Not sure if she could handle my non-Wendell driving but...
HAHAHAHAHA, Les. You know, I kid you about your driving skills on bumpy roads, but REALLY, I totally appreciate it that you drove the whole time, especially on those scary, unlit dark roads.

Almost feels like I was on the flight and arrived on Kauai! I like the striped bedskirts with the Hawaiian print bed spread at the hotel.

We're going too. It's fun to see ahead what we'll be seeing in Lihue. We're staying in Kapaa though.
Fun Kay! Kapaa was just minutes away from where we were staying.

No wonder you had Wi-Fi issues...You were in boonies. Have you heard of airbnb? Might want to check it out when planning your next trip.
Thanks Myko! I'll ask Leslie if she knows about them. She's my travel agent person. She does all the work and I just give her my money.
