La Tour Cafe is in Aina Haina Shopping Center!!! So happy!!
These are sample Kouign Amann, which according to the really nice countergirl, replaced their Liege Waffle.
Wendell's Bacon Jalapeno Cheddar ($10.90) made with wagyu beef. Wendell liked it. I thought it was just okay. It did come with really, really good fries.
Here's my Porchetta Sandwich ($11.00). Pork belly, Mich!
I stuffed all of the filling onto one side of the loaf and ate only half the bread. Only thing . . . I ate choke of Wendell's fries.

Wow wow lau lau! Aina Haina shopping center sure has grown up! And so have the prices. My mom used to take me there in 1964 to get a haircut at the local barber shop. I later went to the private school across the street on the ocean side called "The Academy". We always used to sneak over to McDonalds Aina Haina at lunch time for a Big Mac! ; )
Haha, I tried that already! I took out the "weeds", but I'd rather have their tomato bisque or french dip. We went Agu Ward today, tried the Rafute donburi - oh talk about melt in your mouth. The taste is a little light, but still good!

Whoa! I spotted the macarons. That's a ton of them! Are they getting popular over here too, then? They are really big in Chicago. My daughter and granddaughter are crazy about them. $1.95 is an OK price. It was $2.50 in Chicago. For me.... well.... I'm not too crazy about them. It's too expensive for a little cookie. My son-in-law took my daughter to Paris while we babysat our granddaughter for a week. They brought back macarons from Laduree which is supposed to be famous. Well.... meh... was OK. I would prefer a mochi any day.
