Why So Hard?
I went online yesterday to try to find out why the leaves on almost all of my lemon plants are turning brown. Guess what I think it is. Too much water. The roots are oxygen starved. That's what I read.
Sheese. Rabbit, snails and now . . . rain. I moved the plants to an area under the eaves of the house.
And here is my egg-shell booby trap against snails. Snail: "Oooh, time for some tender morsels. La di la di . . . ouch, ouch, ouch." Me: "HAHAHAHA!!! Good for you!"

Don't scream but I just went to walmart several years ago and bought a Meyers and have a lemon tree that I don't do anything to..not even water! And I harvest buckets of huge lemons .
They will do great planted in the ground.
SCREEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAMMMMMM!!!!!
I think you need way more eggshells! :)
I know Mich!! But I can only eat so many eggs and I keep forgetting to tell Wendell to save me his.
Hahaha that's hilarious! I think I'm going to learn how to garden from your posts. I kill every plant I get a hold on.
how about garlic butter escargot? scratch that i don't think ours are edible.
I could hear that scream !!!!! ;)
Made some Meyers lemon vinaigrette ...so refreshing
And ez.
Jenny, this is the first time that I'm growing anything. I usually kill plants too.
I love escargot, Erick . . . but these snails are wwwww.
Ohhh Corky Boy, that vinaigrette sounds awesome!
Jalna,
Did you spray the leaves (underside especially), the trunks, and all the way down to where the plant comes out of the soil with the blue bottle insect/bug killer?
I sprayed our kaffir lime tree, some chili peppers, and some pikake bushes, and they seem to be doing much better.
Your plants are just babies, no worry. Also, if you grow them from seed they will take awhile to bear fruit. You want lemons? I can drop off in the parking lot...
Aunty
so funny...hey maybe you should tell Cathy to save her egg shells. Her chickens lay eggs everyday so i think they eat a lot of eggs :)
I never spray the whole plant, Aunty. Just on the leaves. I'll try spray again tomorrow. My sister just picked lemons from her friend's house, so I'm good for awhile. Thanks.
Wow, Les, her chickens lay eggs everyday!
Ha ha ha! Thank you for the laugh.
LOL, welcome, Akemi!
