I'd been waiting and waiting for Jersey Mike's Subs to open and it finally did! It's in the same shopping complex as Ross and Costco in Hawaii Kai.
I actually went two days in a row. I took this photo my first time there. It was noonish on a Friday. After seeing the crowd, I almost walked out with a case of my drive-through phobia, but I was really curious and managed to hang in.
Bacon Ranch Chicken Cheese Steak ($9.75). Landon said, "I see the bacon, but I don't taste it." I feel the same way about the boiled eggs in Costco's salads. I think they're fake eggs. Anyway, this sandwich was just okay.
Grilled Pastrami Reuben ($9.45). This was good . . . tasty . . . and stuffed with filling, but it has sauerkraut in it, and I never had sauerkraut before, and I didn't know that sauerkraut is so . . . well . . . "sauer".
Jersey Mike's Famous Philly ($9.45). This was my favorite.
SO good to know! Next time I go to Costco I shall check it out and try the Famous Philly one that was your favorite. So glad the water main break traffic has been resolved on your side. Costco Hawaii Kai lost so much business during that week.
j: I love your description about COSTCO's eggs. I thought I was the only one! It is so absolutely tasteless. I bought the pre-boiled, peeled eggs and it was like eating something but no eggy taste. That Philly cheese steak looks so ono. -N
A year ago a new Jerzey Mikes opened up 2 miles away from me here in Poway, CA. I went one time because they had a free sub coupon, while asking for a donation for a cause. So I went, donated and got my sub. But I found that the entire menu is seriously over priced. I have never been back. Then, just the other day I got a $2.00 off coupon. But I'm not going. Even at $2.00 off I still think their subs are over priced. More mainland junk coming to Hawaii. Ho da Haoles! ; )

Ho Aunty, that water main break was serious.
N! You too! Do you think it's some processed egg-looking thing?
I liked it, Kat.
Hope you get to try, Chet!
I agree, Mark . . . expensive!
wow, never heard of them but I guess no matter, eh?
I never did before either, Les.
Wow cool, nobody make a good Philly cheese steak in Hawaii. Have to go check it out.
I think you'll like it, Erick.
