OMG

I don't own a wallet. Instead I use a zippered section in my cross-body purse (more like a pouch) to store my money.

The other day I was straightening out a $10 bill while checking out at Whole Foods, and I tore it completely in half.

I told the cashier, "OMG, I can't believe I just did that."

She said, "What happened?"

I showed her.

She calmly took out a tape dispenser and while taping the two pieces together said, "To tell you the truth, it's a first for me too."

Who DOES stuff like that? Me.

Ornament

I was asked to write names on Christmas ornaments at the Day Care again this year, and I used the bouncy lettering technique. Yeehaw!!!

Anxiety Attack

A very strange thing just happened to me.  I was driving to Waimanalo to pick up eggs when all of a sudden I felt as if I didn't quite know how to drive.

I didn't know where to focus my gaze or how to judge my speed. Maybe it was the earliness of hour or the windy road or the low sun in my face. Not sure.

I'm home safe now, but I'm so bewildered.

Bouncy Brush Lettering

This is the kind of brush lettering that I want to do but has been forever eluding me. 😫

James Burke Washi Tape

I decided to stop hoarding my James Burke washi tapes and finally busted each out from their packaging.

They're so pretty that after I got them I ended up not wanting to use them.

I laid strips in my art journal as a keepsake and am now finally putting them to use.

Raisin Bread from Bakery & Table

I went back to Bakery & Table in Times Kahala the other day. I walked back and forth trying to decide which pastry to get until I finally decided on a half loaf of the raisin bread ($7).

Toasted and dabbed with buttah . . . was so ono!

Corned Beef Thieves?

I noticed this at Longs the other day and thought it was most intriguing. No? I've seen expensive canned abalone in a locked display case before, but this is not-that-expensive corned beef being secured behind the checkout counters. I can't figure it out. Plus, if someone were to try and steal some corned beef, how many cans could the person hide in their clothing without it being noticeable? Maybe it's a lot of people stealing one can at a time. Makes me wonder . . .

Also noticed Tulip Jamonilla on the shelf below.  Didn't know what that was. Had to google it when I got home.

Pomai of Tasty Island did a Jamonilla review earlier this year. You can check it out here

Christmas Gift Tags

I got this 10-card pack at the swap meet for $1.  I loved the feel of the paper . . . like washi. I imagined I could make Christmas gift tags with them.

Each card was simply a sheet of the washi paper folded in half. It was perfect.

I was able to cut 40 pieces from the cards.

I even cut up the envelopes.

I glued the pieces onto card stock and folded them in half. Then I punched holes in each and added a gold string. I got the string from Fisher. I think it was $1.79.

Came out cute, yah.

Disposable Fountain Pens

My mom wanted to check out the 30%-off Christmas gift bags at Fisher so after picking up her medicine from Tripler yesterday we went to Fisher's Mapunapuna branch.

I knew that these fountain pens were on sale at Fisher and I meant to look for them the day before when I was at the Kakaako store, but by the time I remembered about them my basket was pretty loaded and already contained over $50 worth of stuff. And so I decided that I really didn't need another fountain pen . . . even though these were COLORED fountain pens, and I didn't own any COLORED fountain pens.

It's funny when you're in the same store but it's a brand new day and you're empty handed and you haven't spent any $$$ yet . . . spending $5 something for three pens seems like such a small amount. So I got um.

I like the vibrant colors.

Yesterday's Deals

I'm kinda into brush lettering although no matter how much I practice I still suck. This Tombow Fudenosuke set is on sale at Fisher this month. I wrote about the pen before here, and was excited to learn that they now make it in different colors.

Fisher is selling the set for $14.95. It's actually selling on Amazon right now for $28.90!  I think it would make a good Christmas present.

This is my favorite glue to use when I make greeting cards. You only need to use a little, and because it's more rubbery than liquidy it doesn't warp paper.

It's also on sale at Fisher this month.

Another good deal was this Faber-Castell water-soluble colored pencil set which I got at Ross for $11 (including senior discount).  It's $24.87 on Amazon.
