The two-pack came with a hard-tip and a soft-tip pen. I like them . . . maybe the best of all the calligraphy-type pens that I own.
There was just a slight difference in feel between the two. I think I preferred the hard tip one just a skosh more.
Honolulu Aunty has the quote below on her current blog post. I like it a lot.
LOL, I just noticed . . . supposed to be "under" whose shade. Good thing I still only practicing.

nice!
It is not just the pens - it is the writer who is da winnah!
this must be easy for you since your handwriting is already neat. Mines is becoming messier and messier as I get older....
J: Another thing to hate on you, dang the lettering is GORGEOUS. And it's moe bettah without the under. Shorter sayings are much more better. If you transfer your lettering to wood, you can make art you can hang. I buy that kind of stuff from TJ Maxx and Ross's all the time to decorate my wall. One is a painting of flowers...so you can do that too. So many possibilities. -N
Hi Jalna! I don't know if they have anything you are looking for, but I noticed Mitsuwa Marketplace now has a small stationery section of mostly pens to the left of the entrance when you walk in. Might be worth checking out if you happen to be in Waikiki. Bentos are decently priced for Waikiki and they have an eating area where you can heat up your bento, too.
Thanks Kat!
Awww thanks Aunty. Love that quote.
Nottt Les, you get nice writing.
Good idea, N! Next time I'm at Ross, I'll go check it out.
Thanks Anon! I looooove looking in stationery sections. I have two other brush-type Japanese pens I like that I got from Sanki in Pearl City. Kinda too far for me so I only went that one time. If I'm ever in Waikiki for sure I'll check out Mitsuwa.
I love the tree! ~matsu
Thank you, Matsu!
Do you have to turn the pen a certain way to get the thick and thin of the letters or is the pen made to do that for you?
Susan, this pen is not one where you have to slant it a certain way. It's like a brush but not as soft. The trick is in writing with a hard downstroke and a soft upstroke.
