Remember the time my sister's pottery class had a Raku firing and I went to take pictures? Well, a new pottery session just started yesterday so me and CQ decided to join. It'll be every Tuesday for 10 weeks. The teacher Barbara runs a veeeeery tight ship and rules are to be followed explicitly. Me and CQ kept screwing up (mostly me) so despite the scoldings, it was pretty hilarious . . . well maybe hilarious just to me and CQ . . . but you know how we are.
First CQ wrote "CQ" on a sign up sheet. Teacher said, "Give me a break . . . what's your real name?" Then when we went to get aprons for ourselves, we kept picking ones that belonged to other people and not the "for-share" ones. Then I cut my clay piece too small. Too late. Cannot do nothing. CQ talked to somebody while teacher was trying to explain something. Pay attention, CQ. I flattened my clay piece into something so misshapen that I think teacher gasped when she saw it. CQ didn't return her turntable to its proper place. I balled up my leftover clay instead of creating something with it. There's lots more I did wrong. In fact, I don't think I did anything right.
Here's my piece. I think I might paint it brown since it looks so much like a graham cracker.
Here's CQ's. So show-off yah.
Well, 9 more weeks to go. Wonder how many more graham cracker plates I'll make.
thanks for today

Awwww . . . thanks, Kevin!
EVERYBODY gets the 'scoldings' from Barb. Going be fun!
Hahaha, nice choice of words! Thanks for inviting me to join you folks, but I think I would have had an anxiety attack.
Hahahaha, Dean, I wonder if she would kick me out of class if I irritate her too much. Well, we'll see . . .
Yeah Michele, woulda been fun with you there too.
Ha, ha, what does she expect for the 1st day. Nice cracker!
Thanks Erick!
Hey, I agree with you Erick...is this a beginner class or advanced? Usually, I would think, there would be some slack the first couple of classes. I would not have lasted. You are such a good sport, jalna...I like your cracker. CQ's piece is nice too.
Betty, me and CQ were the only beginners; my sister, her second year. Everybody else had experience. The class is only $50 for 10 weeks, so that's a bargain; worth the experience at least.
It should be fun as it goes along...and that's a good price.
I think so too, Betty.
