Merry Christmas everybody. Hope you all had a good one. My family just left; we had a really nice time as usual. I'll post some pictures tomorrow. For now, I want to show you these marbles that I got at the swap meet. Pretty, yeah. I gave them to my sister Geri for Christmas. She had mentioned that they'd look good in her fish tank. I lined them up on the hood of my car . . . which wasn't an easy feat . . . they kept rolling off. Instead of hand holding the camera, I rested it on the car (don't tell Wendell, but got small-kine scratches on the hood now). For my photog friends: Canon 40D, 60mm EFS macro lens, ISO 125, f6.3, 1/10 to 1/30 shutter speed. I loooove how the colors stand out with the low ISO.
wow, pretty cool! It actually looks like you had it one of those white box thingys...y'know, the ones we were supposed to make for ourselves!! hahahaha!! whatever happened to that idea? :)
Those are great shots w/ your 60mm lens. It has great colors and sharpness. You can even see the cracks in the last marble. How did you manage to get all the colors of the marbles to show yet the background blown out like that?
Les, I know . . . whatever happened to our white-box-making project? Anyway, looks like no need if you can just use the hood of your car and the neighbor's white fence.
Thanks Shun-Wah. The marbles were actually underexposed in the original shots that I took, so I upped the exposure compensation by 2/3 which made the marbles look better and blew out the background. I wish it was skill that produced the final result, but actually it was pure luck.
