The other day Wendell called me at work at about 5:30. He sounded kinda agitated and rushed and asked if I could pick up some currants and fresh thyme on my way home. I told him that I wouldn't be leaving for another 15 minutes and he said it was okay 'cause he just started cooking. So, on the way home I dropped by Foodland. I figured currants must be by the raisins so I went up and down the aisles looking for the raisins. I found raisins, but no currants. I went to the produce section. I found the fresh herbs, but no thyme. I called Wendell and told him that I wasn't having much luck finding what he needed. He matter-of-factly said, "Oh, I'm done making dinner already, no need the stuff." Ummmmmm, don't get me wrong . . . I'm so grateful and appreciative that after a hard day's work Wendell goes home to cook dinner, but helloooooooooo couldn't he at least call me to let me know that I don't need to go to the market anymore? Dinner was good by the way.
thanks for today

Oh, wow, this looks fabulous. How fortunate you are to have a husband that will cook dinner. How did he do the bean sprouts, etc on the side? That looks good too!! Oh, I'm copying the recipe for the chicken!!
Your food shots are always amazing..the colors and sharpness..they look so good, it always make me hungry.
Thanks Shun-Wah. I usually use my 65mm macro to shoot food stuff. I think that's what helps with the clarity. I probably should be using my tripod too, but I'm too lazy to set it up.
Hi Betty,
The chicken WAS really ono. Wendell said for the sidedish he parboiled the beansprouts and watercress, added in kamaboko and then just added sesame oil, salt and pepper. He said you can also add in minced garlic if you like.
Thanks, Jalna. Thank your hubby too. I'm going to try it. Hope it comes out as good as what your husband made. :)
CURRANTS !!! When I hosted Chef Tony Liu from NYork, it took me (on foot and on the bus) "7" stores before I found currants........but oh oh so worth it !! Wendell has to remake this recipe WITH the currants and fresh thyme, but should shop for it before hand...;o}
